In the summer of 1997, I was roofing the home of a friend of mine, Jen Froehlich Sengpiel. Her parents hired me to tear off the roof of their steeply pitched, three-story home. The bundles of shingles were stacked in nine piles of eights around the pinacle. It was a hot day, but my co-worker, Benjamin Gandhi-Shepard, and I were doing fine until a pile of eight bundles began to slowly slide down the roof, over the gutter and onto the front yard below. My supply company had anchored the bundles with 16-penny nails instead of 2x4's on the slope, and the weight of the shingles bent the nails back over the course of the day, releasing them. I checked the other piles, and they seemed to be fine.
By the end of the day, we had nearly finished, when I heard another pile of eight starting to slide. Frustrated at the thought of having to haul eight more bundles up the ladder, I ran across the roof and slid into the pile attempting to stop them. Upon my arrival I did quick math: eight bundles x eighty pounds a bundle = 640 pounds...then SHOOOOOOM! Suddenly, I'm sliding with the bundle about halfway down the steep slope.
It hit me immediately: I'm going over the edge, and I can't stop. Instead of be afraid, my next vivid thought was, "alright God, this is up to you. I trust you'll take care of me," and I began to watch. I slid fast over the last half of the roof and my feet shot past the gutter. I reached back and grabbed it, and heard the pins pop out against my weight, "ping, ping, PING!" I looked down and had the strobe light/camera shutter effect of the ground getting closer and closer. I landed on my feet and compressed harshly with my forehead hitting my knees (which I can't do normally). The bundles exploded next to me, landing on top of each other in a massive heap.
I stood up amidst the largest adrenaline rush I had ever experienced, thanked God and proceeded to pick up the shingles. Mrs. Froehlich came out asking, "what the hell just happened?" I was a bit embarrassed, and suggested it was the shingles that made the ruckus...but then she asked how I got off the roof so fast. I admitted what happened, and being a Christian Scientist herself, she understood and was quite excited that I was unhurt and had a CS "demonstration" (as opposed to a healing) to share.
Benjamin about had a heart attack running down the ladder to find out what happened, but he too being raised a Christian Scientist, laughed when he found me unhurt.

John Lennon's Last Words
I just watched the "John Lennon: Love is All You Need" Documentary on Biography channel. It's really easy to see why he was assassinated by listening to what he said during interviews in the final years of his life. It came to him, that all we have to do as a planet is Love each other, forget about the fear of violence and trust that it will work. It'll be hard, but it'll work...really...it will.
He noticed that people were moving past the old ways of being and believing and were ready for this change, but others were still seeing and repeating the past, not budging or attempting any kind of change at all, and unfortunately, many of them are in government positions of influence who are able to keep us here indefinitely...and many of them do...and that's crazy.
Change is scary.
It's also normal and inevitable.
Why not?
What have we got to lose?

God's Joke?
Based on the way John Lennon said,
"If anybody can put on paper what our government and the American government and the Russian and Chinese government are actually trying to do, or how and what they think they're doing, I'd be very pleased to know what they think they're doing. I think they're all insane...but I'm liable to be put away as "insane" for expressing that...that's what's insane about it."

...and then he was assassinated within six months...I'd rather be considered insane than believe what our governments are trying to sell us.
Is that God's Joke? Give us great leaders who get assassinated by the insecure power mongers fighting for their right to project control thru fear and intimidation?
That would suck God...I don't believe you would ever do that to your children...
I think of God as a mothering opportunity for life and further creation. God is more like...order...laws of universes, solar systems, Earth, gravity, water, air, food, music, family and the fact this all happened to work for us.
The fact that we exist in this amazing scenario makes me think this must have been created for the purpose of just "being". What else are we supposed to do?
I vote, make the most of it...go the distance...party our asses off and love each other passionately...and most importantly: settle all disputes and pull anyone in power who is attempting to steer us toward war.
Transparency is the Apocalypse...the revolution will be anonymous

The People's Power
With all the conspiracy theory out there about what the "powers that be" are up to, I think it's important to remember the People's Power.
We are individual beings of living light. Science has been proving that little by little, and many religions have come to that conclusion as well.
That's pretty radical.
As beings of light, we are energy (or even angels) and have the power to use prayer/meditation/positivity/affirmation to change our reality. Right now, the world is waking up, and regardless of religious or scientific belief, we KNOW how powerful we are when we THINK together.
While we live our out normal lives, let's also affirm or pray these kinds of concepts to further the creative perception of our planet:
1. We, human beings, are united on our Earth.
2. We are harmonizing the Love of ourselves and each other to find harmony in our actions with each other.
3. We are affecting our physical world with positive change.
4. We are finding WIN-WIN solutions for all humanity to live in peace and enable each other's "Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness."
5. Our personal differences are embraced by our singular purpose of respect and empathy for one another.
Will you guys add some to this thread, and I'll make a HUGE list of beautiful ideas for the World to read? Then we can translate them into all of our languages, and send them to the rest of our planet.

The Math on our World
Broken down in simple math:
+1 = a person who thinks up positive ideas, creates positive ways of living and makes positive change. Most importantly a '+' means 'add' to the world.
-1 = a person who thinks up negative ideas, destroys positive ways of living and makes negative change. Most importantly a '-' means 'take away'.
0 = a person who thinks nothing, creates nothing and makes no change. Most importantly, a '0' means 'nothing'.
If those three people were trying to live together, the problem would look like this:

-1
0

0 (in other words, nothing's able to happen and there can be no change based on the way the first two people cancel each out by disagreeing, and the third is insignificant...at least at this point in their life)
Now you do the math:
Where are we today?
How easy is it to be a '0'?
How difficult is it to be a '+1'?
Can people who are '-1' change?

We, The People, are Alright
The people are alright. We are not the corrupt governments who represent us. We are not the messages of fear pervaded by the media. We are not the military who kills in our name. We are the people, and we are fine.
We, the American people are also fine with the Russian people. They haven't hurt us. Our governments have attempted to make us think we should be scared of each other, but we're not. The American people will not hurt the Russian people, and the Russian people will not hurt us American people.
We, the American people are also fine with the British people. The British people have been close to us for a long time because much of us came for the British people. We will not hurt the British people and the British people will not hurt us American people
We American people are also fine with the Afghani people, because the Afghani people are good just like us. The Afghani people are not the terrorists who kill in their name. We will not hurt the Afghani people and the Afghani people will not hurt us.
This is true of all the peoples on our planet. We American people are made up of Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics, Energy and Love. That's also why we are so full of good, because we are made up of the rest of the world. Humans beings are one life force working together and the American people are the proof.
Let's not let any government or media or military convince us otherwise. Any attempt to make us afraid or doubt our togetherness is irresponsible and intended to control us.
We are smarter than that. We create our governments, they don't create us. We know in our hearts that we are one and not divided. Let anyone know who would tell you otherwise, We, the people of Earth are alright.

The Goddess of the World
On down days, my frown fades,
when she wipes it away, with her touch of grace,
summer breeze, subtle rain,
she's like the trees, how her colors change.
Don't ask me how, I'm just immortal,
I walked thru what I thought was just a porthole,
she likes to chuckle, I love to chortle,
about how she makes sure my blade stays vorpal.
When she was young she fell down the rabbit hole,
and loved every minute of her dramatic roll,
she still plays, more emphatic though,
every story ends in some climactic, "WHOA!"
...it's all messed up, cause
when we're out on the town, they all press up,
it's not me they came to see...I'll bet'cha,
it's she...
